Cobb, a corn snake, was brought in from the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) to become an ambassador animal at CROW. Unsure if Cobb was wild caught or hatched in human care, he received a check-up upon his arrival in August 2017. Because of his uncertain background, Cobb could not be released into the wild population. During the exam, he was friendly and curious. Cobb was moved into the Visitor Education Center later the same month.
Fun Fact: Corn snakes received their name from the pattern on their ventral (underbelly) scales. The pattern is thought to resemble colorful maize or flint corn.
