In 2025, a rescuer in Miami found an unusually friendly wild crow with clipped wings. Typically, this is a sign that the bird was kept illegally as a pet. The rescuer brought the crow to Pelican Harbor Seabird Station (PHSS) in Miami, where the staff soon realized the crow was too comfortable with humans to be returned safely to the wild.
