Where are you from?

I am born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida alongside my brothers.

What’s your position at CROW and how long have you been here so far?

I am currently a Wildlife Rehabilitation Student Intern in a 6 month program at CROW and have worked here since November 25th, 2025.

What is your favorite part of your internship? Favorite role in the hospital?

My favorite parts of the internship include learning and helping educate others through my experience as well as working with so many different species. Something that has really stuck with me is the bond I’ve formed with a lot of the other wildlife rehab interns during my time here; they have really helped to shape my experience here with the camaraderie. 

What is your favorite animal and why?

I’d have to say my favorite animal is a Florida manatee because I’m a sucker for those big sea cows! My favorite animal that I have worked with here at CROW is easily the Great Horned Owl. They are so intelligent, beautiful, and resilient in care and in the wild. 

What is your most memorable CROW moment so far?

My most memorable moment with CROW so far was probably one of our Barred Owl patients who came in with severe head trauma. He came in after being hit by a car and we were convinced he was blind since he was not reacting to us picking him up, waving our hands around, or tracking us in the room. After seeing an eye doctor, we found out he had central blindness, which is caused by severe blunt force trauma usually to the back of the head. He made a full recovery after treatments and was able to be released back in the wild when we thought that was not going to be an option for him. It was a beautiful thing to see him go from helpless to a predator again. 

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of CROW?

Outside of my days here at CROW, I enjoy reading, hanging out with my animals, and enjoying the beach. 

What has been the most surprising thing during your time as an intern?

The most surprising thing that I have experienced during my internship is easily the amount of Bald Eagles we’ve had in care in just the three months that I’ve been here! I believe we’ve seen five or six total. I consider myself very lucky for that. 

What are some of your goals or aspirations for the future?

In the future, I would love to work in a zoo setting. I thoroughly enjoy animal behavior as well as enrichment, and find them both to be integral parts of both rehab and habitat care. I would love to become a Certified Wildlife Rehabber and plan to continue to dedicate my life to my calling in animal care and be the voice that they are not fortunate enough to have.
