“My position at CROW is a Veterinary Student Extern.”

How long have you worked at CROW?

“I just completed my 4-week externship with CROW.”

What is your favorite animal and why?

“My favorite animal is probably a raccoon, as they are the cutest little troublemakers.”

What is your most memorable CROW moment?

“I think my most memorable CROW moment happened during my first day. I truly had no idea what to expect, and within the first hour was asked to jump right in to pick up and restrain a Cormorant! With essentially no prior bird experience, I was inwardly very nervous, but this moment was the start of a fun-filled month gaining valuable skills in handling dozens of wildlife species!”

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of CROW?

“My favorite hobby is traveling with my little adventure buddy @calithevetschoolpuppy ! While here in Sanibel, we enjoyed paddleboarding, swimming, and playing on the beach. Cali and I have visited more than 13 states and 14 National Parks and Monuments together. Next up- exploring Alaska during my upcoming rotation!”

What are some of your goals or aspirations for the future?

“Following graduation next spring, I plan to work as an Emergency Veterinarian. I hope to use the knowledge I gained at CROW and other educational experiences to help my hospital develop and implement protocols for appropriately triaging wildlife cases in an emergency setting.”
