“I am from Orland, FL, but I currently live in Jupiter, FL for school.”

What is your position at CROW?

“My position at CROW is a Wildlife Care Extern”

How long have you worked at CROW?

“I just finished my 9 week externship.”

What is your favorite animal and why?

“My favorite animal would have to be any of the raptors, such as the Barn Owl, Osprey, or Hawks. I had previously only worked with red-shouldered hawks so to be able to work with a variety of raptors was a lot of fun.”

What is your most memorable CROW moment?

“One of my favorite memories from CROW would have to be when I was able to release one of our Ospreys by the causeway. I had opened the door of the carrier for him to go but he was facing the wrong way and did not realize that he was being released. When he finally turned around it was incredible to see him take off towards the causeway.”

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of CROW?

“Activities or hobbies that I enjoy outside of CROW are going to the beach and trying to find the infamous Junonia, playing the piano – which I was able to do at the old Sanibel school house, and exploring new sites on island or off island. I also was incredibly lucky with the other students I was able to do this externship with because they were able to introduce me to new pass times like jewelry making, painting, or cooking. ”

What are some of your goals or aspirations for the future?

“My goals and aspirations for the future are to go to veterinary school and I am currently filling out my applications for my first cycle. I currently would like to work in wildlife or zoo because I love the diversity of species that you can work with on a daily basis. Working at CROW has only strengthened my desire to become a wildlife veterinarian and has taught me so much about not only different medical practices, but also about different native species.”
