Eastern Screech Owl #17-1000
A nestling eastern screech owl was admitted to the clinic after being dropped off at one of our drop locations. No information was provided as to where it came from, so it is unable to be re-nested. The owl will receive supportive care as it grows up and will be released once it is old enough to fly and hunt on its own.
Eyes Open - Apr 21 2017 11:40 am
The young owl has remained in good health. It is eating mouse pieces and has opened its eyes. It has lost most of its white "down" feathers and is growing its "juvenile" feathers.
Moved to Outside Enclosure - May 04 2017 8:38 am
The young screech owl has been growing like a weed and eating well on its own. It was moved to an outside enclosure along with five other juvenile screech owls which are relatively the same age. Can you spot all six in this picture?
